Getting started

TycoonBox is managed hosting for Rails, Node, Python, Go, PHP, and static sites. We run the infrastructure — you upload a zip or connect git and deploy.

Free tier (about 15 minutes)

Sign up on the free plan (no credit card). We provision hosting on your account; the dashboard guides you to a first successful deploy.

Pick how you want to start:

Upload from your computer (fastest)

Best if you want to try TycoonBox without GitHub, OAuth, or webhooks.

1. Sign up — use Try free — upload or git on the homepage (upload-first path), or choose My own code on the dashboard
2. Dashboard — when hosting is ready, drop a .zip or .tar.gz on the upload area (or Apps → New app → Upload)
3. Watch deploy logs — we detect your stack, provision a URL, and queue the deploy
4. Optional — connect git later in Settings for push-to-deploy

Tip: zip your project folder (zip -r app.zip .). We flatten one top-level folder automatically.

Sample app first

Best if you want a live URL before touching your own code.

1. Sign up — choose Sample app on the dashboard (or use ?onboarding_path=sample on registration)
2. Dashboard — when hosting is ready, we queue a sample app (or tap Deploy sample app)
3. Watch deploy logs — open the app in the panel; health check hits /up
4. Then your code — upload a zip or connect git under Apps → New

Git HTTPS URL

Best when your code already lives in git but you do not want OAuth or webhooks yet.

1. Sign up and open the dashboard
2. Apps → New app → Git URL — paste an HTTPS clone URL (public repos work as-is)
3. Create & deploy — we clone at deploy time and provision a URL
4. Ship updates — click Deploy on the app page, use the CLI/API, or upload a new zip

For private repos, embed a read-only token in the URL (https://x-access-token:TOKEN@github.com/you/app.git) or connect git in Settings later for auto-deploy on push.

You can switch between sample and upload/git paths from the dashboard before your first deploy.

Free-plan apps pause when idle (after ~30 minutes without traffic). Visitors who open your app URL see a wake page and the app restarts automatically. Upgrade when you need always-on hosting, custom domains, or review apps.

Expose /up for health checks on git-connected apps. Details in Deploy your first app.

After your first deploy

The dashboard opens up fully. Apps → New app for additional projects — upload or git.

With git connected and auto-deploy enabled, every push to your production branch redeploys automatically. Upload-based apps redeploy from Deploy or by replacing the zip under Edit app.

Review apps — enable Auto-deploy PRs/MRs as review apps on git-connected apps.

Notifications — Slack or Discord webhook in Settings for deploy alerts.

Databases — add Postgres from the app page.

Custom domains — add domains on the app page; TLS is provisioned on deploy.
